Makaro Gold

Nach jahrelanger Entwicklung können wir heute ein Material verarbeiten, das nicht nur nachhaltig hergestellt wird, sondern auch nachhaltig erhalten bleibt. Makaro Gold does not rub off, flake or stain but will accompany you for years.

Makaro Gold besteht aus einer 14-ct gold layer on a brass core. Die Goldschicht ist bis zu 100 mal dicker als die von gängigem vergoldeten Schmuck und erreicht eine Dicke von bis zu 25 Micron. Durch die 100-fache Vergoldung sind alle Makaro Schmuckstücke wasserresistent, oder sogar 100% wasserfest.

Bei der Herstellung von Makaro Gold any environmentally harmful chemicals wir im Gegensatz zu anderen Vergoldungsmethoden gänzlich of Makaro Gold.

Did you know that common gold-platings (Vermeil, gold-plated ...) are chemically applied? The gold-plating industry is one of the most polluting in the entire jewelry business. This is because, on the one hand, of its extremely high water consumption and, on the other hand, to the fact that toxic chemicals are released as air pollutants during the gilding process. These are then lost in the waste water together with valuable raw materials after the gilding process.

And that's not all: Gold-plated jewelry loses its gold layer after an average of 2-5 months from mere wear. Producing and using chemicals for such a purpose is the opposite of sustainable.

What do we do differently?

We work with a gilding process that is not chemically but mechanically applied and thus does completely away with chemicals & uses minimal water consumption. This method makes our jewelry not only much more sustainable but also much more durable! Because of the up to 100x thicker gold-plating, your jewelry will accompany you sustainably for many years.

Für unsere Vergoldung verwenden wir aktuell mindestens 80% Gold aus Recycling-Quellen und erweitern diesen Prozentsatz jährlich. Unsere Makaro Engagement Collection besteht schon jetzt zu 100% aus Recycling-Gold.
