Small moments can change lives. Our founder, Hanna, had the idea when she wanted to reward herself with a piece of jewelry. She quickly realized that traditional gold jewelry from a jeweler would lie beyond her budget, and costume jewelry did not fit the occasion or meet her quality standards. Therein lay an opportunity, she thought, and she developed it into a business together with her partner, Matthias.

Hanna and Matthias could tell you a thing or two about the fact that this path was not meant to be an easy one. But they kept at it and put together a real power team. Within only four years, together with experienced goldsmiths, they had developed a unique production method that ensures that Makaro gold does not rub off or flake but remains your shiny companion for many years.

Dass dieser Weg kein leichter sein würde, davon konnten Hanna und Matthias auch ein Liedchen singen. Doch sie blieben dran und stellten ein wahres Power-Team zusammen. So wurde innerhalb von vier Jahren gemeinsam mit erfahrenen Goldschmieden eine einzigartige Produktionsmethode entwickelt, die dafür sorgt, dass Makaro-Gold nicht abfärbt, nicht abreibt oder abblättert, sondern dein lang jähriger, glänzender Begleiter bleibt.
Little Things & Big Chances
Aus einem kleinen Onlineshop der anfangs nur von den beiden Gründern betrieben wurde, wurde dank Word-to-Mouth und der Unterstützung der Makaro Community auf Social Media einer der am schnellsten wachsenden Onlineshops im deutschsprachigen Raum. Mittlerweile kannst du die Makaro Magic sogar im wahren Leben spüren: in einem der Makaro Stores in Österreich und Deutschland.
Behind the Brand
Through the support of the Makaro Community, multiple jobs were not only created in Austria and Germany, but also new opportunities opened up for the Makaro workshop in Budapest. To date, the Makaro workshop has grown from a single goldsmith to 15 artisans, creating many new fair jobs.
